Oh Happy Day

Who says you can't use pink on a boy page? :D
I LOVE the Green line from My Little Shoebox.
There are LOTS of hues of blue and green-woodgrain and a bit of pink thrown in for good measure. Some people shy away from buying certain papers that have some pink on them if they are scarapping 'boy' pages but I think adding some pink elements in moderation is OK.
You'll notice I was careful to only use it only as an accent
(I think if I used it as my most dominant color that it might look out of place
but I think here it really pops the blue, green, yellow and brown.)

****Still going sideways & not sure why BUT
this is a close up of the stamp (stitched loopy lines) and my journalling. TFL!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back next week-I have some
DT assignments from My Little Shoebox to share
(This one was just for fun-I ADORE this product!).

Have a happy weekend!

77 trainz

For some reason, all the photos I try to upload keep coming through turned 90 degrees to the left.
UGH.

**I will try to fix and then upload my detail shots. Sorry I can't get them uploaded right now.
In the meantime, I will share my newest Momenta LO.
I was teasing Little Man one day that he must have AT LEAST 100 trains and he started counting them. I collected all that I could find (I am SURE I missed a few) and we came up with 77
(which is now 78 in light of a recent purchase. Blush.).
I then snapped a photo (he LOVES when I photograph his toys)
and the rest is history. Laugh.
Supplies: Cardstock- Momenta CS pack in Earthtone & Primary.
Paper-Imaginisce.
Train embellies- Reminisce & Carolee's Creations.
'77'-American Crafts Thickers

***edited to add last 3 photos August 28/10

Thanks for checking in
and have a GREAT WEEK!

It's been awhile.

have had quite a few projects to share BUT everytime I try to post, I hit a glitch with Blogger and haven't had time to try to play with it to figure it out but I think the bugs are all gone at this point. EEK. Actually they are not BUT I think I have figured out a way around it.

Whew!
These 2 new layouts are from the new Cottage Christmas line from Imaginisce. I LOVE LOVE LOVE color on my pages and Imaginisce has added this funky orange color to the mix (I would never have DREAMED I would use orange on a Christmas LO but it really adds a bit of ZING and keeps the line very fresh.

Note the Sticker Glass elements (the trees, gifts, holly). I would normally shy away fom these elements but am really glad I got to try them out. I like the bit of shine and sparkle they add to the page.
Plus you'll notice that I matted them on white cardstock just to give them that little extra definition.

Also, note the beautiful jewelled snowflake on top of the equally decadent flower. Imaganisce usually has a beautiful array of flowers to match most of their paper lines but I can rarely use them without making my 'boy' pages look so fussy. I thought I would give this beautiful snowflake a home on this one.

This second LO is of my Little Man and DN fooling around with some Santa hats last year.
These out-takes were just cute NOT to use.

Thanks for stopping by. I have a few more projects to share this week!
Have a happy Sunday!

Sweet Summer Days

Happy Thursday Everyone!!

I have a quick post for you today-but I like this LO too much not to post it ASAP!
I did this with ATD products (which you can get at Zellers, Wal-mart and Michael's)
and it is a LO of my Dad as a little munchkin. As you can see, I had ALOT of fun doodling, paper piecing and making ALOT of my own elements.

Thanks for stopping by and have a FABULOUS day!!

Family Photo

I just HAVE to say that I have been horrible at scrapping my wedding pics.
I always pull out these beautiful (albeit neutral and classy)
papers to scrap and the mojo just goes
OUT.THE.WINDOW.
I pulled out some older papers I have been hoarding and played a bit
with NO PHOTO in mind (I do this on occasion and am almost ALWAYS happy with the LO)
and came up with THIS compilation.
Then I stuck one of my wedding photos on it and was WOW-ed.
I tinkered some more and this was the end result.
Verdict? I need to start scrapping my wedding pics with COLORED papers.

Supplies: Papers-BoBunny (Double Dot and Calypso), Making Memories (white scallop)
Paper doilies, crocheted lace & alpha beads-Dollarama,
Buttons-stash, Bling-BoBunny, Alphas-American Crafts-Thickers
Crocheted flowers by the oh so talented Cheryl. (Thank you AGAIN, you sweet Lady!!)

Just a couple of housekeeping items before I sign off.
Can you believe THREE months has gone by already
and my DT term with Scrap Yourself is over??
HOW is that possible?
I wanted to say thank you to Kristine for having me on her inaugural team.
I had ALOT of fun scrapping some things I might never think of normally
and will sure to keep checking back on the blog
(and will hopefully still get to play along a bit.)
If you are working on a BOM-definately check them out
and play along!

I also want to take this oppertunity to say that with my scrapbooking
obligations, sadly, I have had to resign from my post on the LIITD DT last month.
Lori and the team
(Chelsea, Amber, Lisa & Melissa)
are so genuinely
wonderful, warm AND welcoming.
AND OH-SO-TALENTED!!
If you are looking for a scrappy home to hang your hat, PLEASE stop by
Love Is in the Details (and say that I sent you!!).
They sure are a chatty bunch and
REALLY know how to have a good time on-line.

As always, thank you for peeking in!
I love reading each and
every one of your comments!

Apple Cider

Happy August, PEEPS!!
Can you believe the summer is going by SO quickly?
The weather has been wonderful but somedays the heat and humidity is crazy unbearable.
Thankfully my darling hubby found and installed the air conditioner this week.
It is sure to make August that much more pleasant!

I wanted to share a couple of new LOs from the new
Apple Cider collection from Imaginisce. This paper SCREAMS for fall photos,
but I just can't do it (yet). Luckily, the colors and patterns are still
fun to use on a non themed layout, and I have been meaning to do a page
about my Little Guy's love for ALL THINGS Wii/Mario related.

Supplies: Cardstock-Core'dinations & Bazzill,
Papers, stickers, layered cardstock stickers-Imaginisce (Apple Cider Collection)
Buttons-Great Canadian Dollar store
alphas-Basic Grey (blue & white), Cosmo CRicket (cream mini alphas)

I learned from Christine Middlecamp's blog that if an element is too big for your page,
it is OK to trim it and just use a portion. That way you will actually
USE your stash and not hoard it like I do. ;)
(The journalling tag was cut from 1 lg. tag)

************************
This next LO is a new personal favorite. It is 8.5x11" and
I SO enjoyed how much quicker this LO came together
(and how much easier it will be for me to store).
This also uses the new Apple Cider Collection along with
a hodge podge of buttons and fibers from my stash.
I also used a NEW favorite 'GoTo' item-alphabet beads!
If you live in Canada and are near a Dollarama (the green store)
check it out, I got a bag of 300 characters for 1 buck!
I also got the kraft covered wire (see below) there!!
Supplies: Cardstock-Core'dinations, Paper-Imaginisce (Apple Cider)
Kraft wire, alpha beads-Dollarama
Alphas-Basic Grey, buttons & brads-from stash

Close up of beads.

Tree inspired by trees on paper. Tree and leaves cut free hand.

Close up of kraft wire.

Thanks for popping by and have a
GREAT Sunday!!
