Favorite Projects from 2010

Hello Friends!

I can't believe it's been a week since I updated. It's been a bit of an emotional roller coaster week here in the Stevens' household (isn't it always during the C-mas season??)!
AND why is it the people we love the most almost always annoy us the easiest?? ;) LOL.
BUT we had a banner Christmas here this year and I'm not talking about presents (although Santa left WAY more than we needed).
My Darling Little Man was INSANELY EXCITED about Jolly Ol' Saint Nick coming to our house this season and celebrated in full force the way only a 5 (and a HALF) year old can.
It was just so special just to watch him expereince it all.

Every year my scrappy friends re-visit some of their favorite work and I VOW I will get it together and do the same (but I NEVER do). So, if you don't mind seeing a few golden oldies from 2010- here we go!

Love this one for all the pattern paper in the background & really-
he's just TOO cute at 3 yrs old!

This iwas one of my fave Imaginisce lines.
I got creative and used my I-rock on the flowers as well.

**This one was actually accepted into the Memory Makers Idea book due out in May 2011 BUT
I forgot about the 'never posted before' requirement in the submission agreement.
It broke my heart to do so but I had to re-tract it :(.

This is one of my few, mushy I-love-you LOs about my hubby.
(LOVE this line from Pink Paislee too)

Another Imaginisce project using the Enchanted line.
Could have eaten this with a spoon.
Sorry for the foot pic-I LOVED this pattern on my toes & the LO came together
so well! I normally wouldn't choose this color combo but LOVE it!

An assignment for Scrap Yourself. I just loved ALL of it here-the clouds, die cut paper,
little owl & those FAB fabric letters from Prima-even my handwriting didn't come out too badly :).

This was a LO I used in my application for My Little Shoebox.
This was a second attempt-I tore the first one apart (yeah-I do that-ALOT).
YIKES.

This was one of my first assignments for MLS.
I just ADORED these papers and the pic of my LM with his little buddy is a FAVE of mine.

Also part of my app for MLS.
Can you tell I was <3-ING banners this year? :)

This was a DT project for Momenta and my awesome friends let me use a picture of their little princess for it.
Thanks Mr & Mrs M! :) HUGS!
This is a recent LO I did for Hip 2B Square. Just LOVED how it all came together.
Stitching really seems to be the deal breaker for me on most LOs.

I don't normally love my cards unless they are over the top fussy and even then it is hit or miss.
I loved the simplicity here, color combo & who wouldn't love that cute little giraffe?

This is a Momenta project of my sweet little nephew's b-day.
Again-this LO is a total fluke for me but I was happy with it instantly.

This is a HORRIBLE pic of my LO but still one of my faves (& and much nicer IRL)

I scrapped this pic before (it's of me & my little sis as kids) but I made this copy to frame.

My little Man's first day of school-another HUGE milestone.
I bought these supplies at a crop and just used them.
It was so much fun to pick any supplies that I wanted and just 'go' with it. :)

This is mostly MLS but I added a few other goodies to it.
The brown background paper is actually a very old pattern (LYB-maybe?)
It has a floral pattern on one side but since I knew I wasn't going to use it at this point,
I just flipped it for a bonus piece of brown cardstock (instead of passing it on like I normally would).
I just loved the pics of my little guy during the last few weeks of this summer.

This post included WAY more pics than I intended, so if you are still with me-
THANK YOU!!!
I had a REALLY hard time whittling my faves down to only a few.
I guess when you work with product that you love, you make LOs that you love just as much.
Alot of these are DT work, so I will say HERE another huge
THANK YOU to these wonderful ladies for having me on their design teams this year.
Thanks SO much to:
Kristine @ Scrap Yourself,
Rachael @ Momenta,
Lori A. @ Imaginisce,
and
Kimberley @ Hip 2B Square
for allowing me to be a part of your teams & your vision.
I sincerely appreciate the oppertunity and time I that I got
to spend getting to know each and every one of you.

I also want to wish my faithful blog readers a
VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR

Cute as a Button.

Can you believe Christmas Eve is TOMORROW?
Are you ready yet?

I think I am (I may even attempt to bake a few banana breads today but don't quote me on that-my skills in the kitchen (or lack thereof, in this instance) are legendary-as my closest BFFs can tell you!!).

In the meantime, I have a few LOs that I created for My Little Shoebox using the Cute as a Button line.
Upon first look, it's kinda girly (see the sweet little girl stickers on my cards below) BUT it has the prettiest blue paper and mixes in some orange (my FAVE color combo for scrapping my little guy) and was EASILY workable for scrapping my little boy.

( You can stop by the MLS BLOG and check out the inspiration from the rest of the DT too!
Trust me, you do NOT want to miss out on any of it!)

'Tis the season to be short on time, so my post is a bit short BUT I managed a LO this AM using the mid-release Holly Jolly line from My Little SHoebox that I promise I will share tomorrow.
As always, THANKS for stopping by and have a great day!
Happy Holidays!

OOOH!!
Before I forget, I want to give a special SHOUT OUT to one of my 'Besties', Tracey Taylor (WOOT!!) and Marielle Leblanc for making the new Imaginisce DT!!  These girls are as sweet as they are talented! Please stop by & wish them (and the rest of the oh-so-talented DT) congrats!!
It looks like Imaginisce is about to have a FAB year!!

Teacher Gift

I knew I wanted to make something for my little guy's teacher and as soon as I saw this plaid paper, I knew exactly what I would make. I altered a frame that I bought on clearance with this new paper from the new Marjolaine line from Basic Grey. I paired it with some leftover supplies I had from the November Hip 2B Square kit and had a gift I am very happy with.
Supplies: Paper-Basic Grey, Cardstock-Bazzill, Doilie-Kaiser Craft, Stamp-Autumn Leaves
Inks-Stazon (black) & Powder Puffs (Ameretto), Bling-Kaiser

I have a few more cards that I will share with you this week!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Tuesday!

Anatomy of a Super Mario

This LO is about my Little Man's love of ALL THINGS Mario.
He dressed up like this for Halloween and was TOTALLY digging this costume.
I was also able to use up some older stash on this LO as well.
Papers: Basic Grey, Creative Imaginations
Alphas-American Craft foam Thickers, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type
Buttons & dress maker pins from Dollar store

Thanks for checking in!
Happy MONDAY!

Letter 2 Santa

I tucked my journalling away on this LO to keep it looking clean.

**I included Santa's reply letter on the back of the LO by making a rough sleeve to put it in.

This LO is showcasing some of the fun things we have been doing this holiday season.
Lots of layering. The scallop border was made with my new Recollections punch.
It punches like 'buttah' and had a closure on the back to catch the little
pieces of punched paper. Oh Yeah. It's PINK too :)

This LO showcases the split second duality of the typical 5 year old.
One second, they are wild animals & the next they are sweet as honey.
These pics are of my little guy acting like a clown & then the second pic is
after getting a small bribe to 'smile nicely'.

Last but not least, this is a 12x12 of the first snowman of the season that we built.
The snow had changed to rain but I was already commited to going
outside to build a snowman with him.
It took F O R E V E R to roll a ball big enough and the snow was pretty much
just slush at this point. BUT I had 1 happy Little Boy in the end,
so I have to say it was VERY worth it. Until he knocked the top layer off the snowman.
Then we had some tears. YIKES.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Have a Happy Sunday!
Happy Holidays!

Oh What fun...

It is to ride in a on horse open sleigh!
No really--how fun and pretty is my blog now???
I got a make-over from the OH-SO-Talented Kristine Davidson-if you ever have an oppertunity to get her to work on your blog, snap it up!!! She is great at explaining the process (I am a total moron when it comes to all the internet stuff) and she had my blog done in record time!
And she is super attentive to detail-look how cute that cupcake is to the left of my URL!!

Thank you again-SO MUCH, Kristine!!
I LOVE my pretty new spot on the web!

Deck the Halls!

I must say I SO enjoyed playing with this month's kit from Hip 2B Square SO much!
Kimberley is really fabulous at mixing product and this kit is PRIMO. The only thing I added here is the paper lace doilie (that I picked up at a $1 store) and some stitching.

To see a complete supply list check HERE.

Don't you love the look of the pretty lights in the background?
I'd love to keep my tree up year round just to use as a backdrop.
Do you think my hubby would mind? ;)

Check back tomorrow for MORE LOs from this fabulous kit!
Have a Happy Wednesday!

4 You

Hello Friends!
This is my second installment of the Garden Party projects I did for Imaginisce this month :)

I found some fabulous kraft gift bags at the Dollar store awhile ago and have decided to start altering these as well. These are awesome-they are good and sturdy and plain enough that I can embellish them until my heart's content! They will definately come in handy and what a nice way to personalize a gift (AND use up some of my scrappy stash!)

**close up of matching tag.
All supplies courtesy of Imaginsce Garden Party line EXCEPT alphas
(American Crafts Thickers & white cardstock (Bazzill)

All supplies Imaginisce Garden Party EXCEPT Kraft cardstock (Bazzill),
Alphas (October Afternoon), Lace cardstock (KI Memories)

This LO is about a special, sweet little Angel that I have become acquainted with (unfortunately, I never had a chance to ask her parents permission to publish her photo-I hope you all don't mind the blurred spot)
All supplies Imaginisce Garden Party EXCEPT Alphas (October Afternoon, Websters, American Crafts)
Lace & buttons.

Close up of new Imaginisce mesh brads-LOVE these!

And one last card. :)

And there you have it!
Thanks for stopping by!
