Sisters

WOW! Did I ever have alot of fun with this one! I was cleaning up my scrap room (which still is NOT clean!!) and found some papers that I always wanted to use and never did. I just copied this pic that I borrowed from my dad. It's my sister and I when we were 3& 6 years old. I still remember my mother getting us ready and taking us to Keddy's to get them done. Laugh. (BTW, if you are wondering what the big W is for, it's mine and my sis's maiden name initial)

First of all, I know this isn't my normal scrappy style-I normally scrap more wild and funky colors since I normally scrap only boys, but I RARELY get to scrap 'girlie'. Once I had the papers picked out (and it wasn't as much of a process as it normally is, the papers kinda just fell into place) I was at a loss & had NO idea what I would do next. and then I thought, 'What would Amanda or Tracey do? '
I am VERY lucky to say these 2 girls are good friends and scrappy divas (PLUS they both scrap 'pretty LOs' VERY well)!
SO I went through their galleries and got some MAJOR inspo!
Thanks, Ladies!

I cut black pattern paper from a BG Origins pattern (note: It's not backed with anything, that's my pillow and bedding you're seeing behind it-Laugh) I then layered it with sheets of the totally neglected BG Sugared line I have been hoarding saving for about 2 years and never used. I also used some chipboard from that same line. The white lacey pattern on the black scalloped cardstock is actually a lace doilie that I bought from the Dollarama (btw-they come 4/$1) and adhered with Fabritac adhesive. This stuff is the catz MEOW. It dries fast and bonds fabric to paper (and other fabric) very well.
Supplies: CS- DCWV, Papers-BG (Origins & Sugared), lace trim-Prima,
Felt Trim-Crate Paper, Chipboard-BG (Sugared),W (mono)-ColorBok, Bling-BoBunny,
Buttons-Misc (from stash), Alphas-Jenni Bowlin,
Lace Doilie, Jewellery cord & Paper Doilie-Dollarama

If you have made it this far-THANK YOU!!
And so sorry about the long post- I am certain this sort of thing won't happen again for a LONG time.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!

I LOVE this stuff!

Maybe I will even be inspired to scrap THIS SUPER FANTASTIC birthday cake
given to me by my 2 FAVE Boys last week!

Little Piggies

I am sad to say that the time has come for me to move on from the Scrapbook Sussies DT. With my new DT responsiblities for ATD-Momenta, I simply won't have enough time to do a good job for Lara. If you ever have the oppertunity to try out for her DT or buy her kits, you will NOT be dissappointed. SHe is a SUPER NICE person, professional and extremely understanding. AND her kits are ALWAYS jam packed with papers and embellishments and VERY cost effective if you LOVE having new goodies but don't have the time to shop and coordinate it all.
Thank you again Lara for the oppertunity!
****************
These are 2 projects I did with the May kit. This kit has the new Pebbles TREE HOUSE release.
At first I was unsure about the color scheme (I wasn't sure if I could make it work) but I am HAPPY to say that this LO actually goes into my faves pile. I just LOVED how it turned out.

This paper line actually come with a page of cut-able phrases and greeting which are PERFECT for quick and simple cards.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a Happy Thursday!

Flirt

I was lucky enough to receive ATD for Momenta's Valentine 2011 Release in the mail last week and was able to get some Valentine's 2010 photo scrapped! This line comes with comes with some great colors (with a bit of purple mixed in to keep it interesting). I often like to throw a contrasting color in there and chose some blue Bazzill (My Baby Boy's favorite color). I was also able to link a home made banner together using the coordinating bling elements to string it together. I don't often scrap in 8.5x11" but decided to challenge myself a bit with this and was REALLY happy with the outcome.

Close up of bling gems & hearts. Also I adore this line of mini puffy alphas and KNOW that I will be turning to this clean, classic font time and time again.

ATD also has a line of adhesive vellum quote wich look great when paired on colored cardstock. I wish you ciuld see the teeny bitt of glitter on the puffy word strips. This line is pure fun.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!
I will be sure to have ANOTHER project featuring this line in the near future!

Splash Dance

Hello Everyone!
How have you all been? I am sorry I haven't posted in a bit-we have been SUPER busy- My little guy is busy in the AM and PM for the next little bit, so I am a tad bit scarce these days. Thank you to anyone who has been peeking in on me in the meantime, I promise THIS week, I have more to share.

Today I have some new Imaginisce Splash Dance projects to share with you (and if you look closely, I also used my new I-Rock tool  (which is scheduled to ship in the near future!!) to give my project just a little bit of punch!!)

This pic was taken last summer of my LM & DN playing at an INDOOR sandbox (we were in a resteraunt & they had that to occupy the kids! What a GENIOUS idea!)

Close up of the Gems.

This pic is of my DN pretending to milk a cow statue. This child has ALOT of personality!

A couple of Simple & summery greeting cards.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a happy Tuesday!

My Hoarding issues

Today is reveal day for Challenge #3 at the Scrap Yourself blog!!

The challenge is THIS: Scrap something you collect!

I had been having coffee with a friend of mine not long ago and we got talking about things we have too many of-when I came to the realization that I had more than a few hooded sweaters (I thought I had 2 or 3. 4 at the most!!) I was VERY surprised to find I had TEN (2 of which have been purged and replaced, BTW!!) hoodies (5 of which were black!!). It's easy to see why I scrapped THIS.
Do you collect things unknowingly??

Thanks for popping by! Happy Wednesday!

Home Sweet Home

I had some fun playing with some of these colorful papers this week. I love that MLS papers have so much detail that you can pretty much cut ANYTHING out of it and use it as an embellishment. The clouds, houses, bird & heart boarder were all fussy cut and some were pop-dotted for dimension. It's a really inexpensive way to embellish a LO if you have a bit of extra time.

Supplies: All papers are My Little SHoebox, cardstock-Bazzill, Alphas-American Crafts & Cosmo Cricket.
* * * * *

I made this bird house card by tracing a chipboard book that I bought from Michael's onto black cardstock  and used it as a rough guide and cut coordinating colours out to go with this cute chackadee (Also cut from MLS papers). I then made a small triangle template and cut some coordinating banners to decorate it.

Thanks for popping by! I have a few more LOs to share tomorrow!

Mini Flip Flop Album

Hello & Happy Saturday!!
What a busy week we have had (plus I was sick with a cold that turned into a sinus cold) but THANKFULLY we are having a quiet weekend, so I am getting some much neglected things caught up around here (read: blogging :) ) and I am able to partially breathe again.
BUT I did want to share a little project that I put together this week. I used the backs of paper stacks (you know-those really thick cardboard pieces that you get?) and traced a flip flop that I had and cut out 3 of these shapes (it's about 9" in length). I then traced (on the wrong side of my patterned paper) a piece for the cover and adhered it to the form. Using my Crop-A-Dile (I just eyeballed it really), I punched 3 holes for my ribbon fastener and then cut a second piece of paper and adhered it (you can use an emery board to file off any excess paper-I lightly inked mine as well). Once you have both pieces adhered, you can thread ribbon through to mimic the look of a flip flop. I then finished the front of my cover with a flower made of ribbon and a title.

The inside of my cover and page 2.

Close up of tree & clouds that I pop dotted for dimension.
The tree was cut freehand by making a slightly oval shape.
I inked these as well for dimension.
Page 3 & 4 (4 is the front of my back cover)

Supplies: Cardstock-Bazzill, All papers-My Little Shoebox
Alphas-Pink Paislee & Kaiser Craft, Ribbon-Offray

As you can see, I was able to use up some very pretty scraps by piecing together some strips and using some scalloped paper. I then finished off by outlining these pieces. Small, striped square pieces were matted and used for journalling. This mini really comes together quickly & allows you to use some scraps and some things you might otherwise throw away or put into the re-cycling.

I hope you are all having a FAB weekend.
I will have some new LOs to share tomorrow!

Happy Mother's Day.

What a wonderful day I have had. I spent time with my In Laws for lunch this afternoon and received a beautiful card, some flowers and some very special gifts. My hubby ended the day with an easy & light supper for me and here I am playing around on my computer, editing some of my favorite pics from today. :)
It really can't get much better.

Little Man surprised me these flowers on Friday from school and I am FAIRLY certain I will hang on to them forever. : ) I brought them home on 2 buses and was terrified I was going to drop them, break them or ruin them somehow. I have photographed them 'just in case'.

I also have a few LOs to share from the LIITD May kit "Honey & Broom Grass".
This kit is chock full of the new Pink Paislee collections and WOW is all I have to say!

This LO is of my friend Heather & I hamming it up for the camera on New Year's Eve.
I was SO glad she and her hubby could make it-we had a lot of fun. (And isn't she just adorable??)

All items from May Kit at LIITD EXCEPT Chipboard alphas.

* * * * *

Sorry for the glare on this one-the lighting conditions were NOT optimal today. :)
The fancy design behind the photo was fussy cut from the paper and then cut in half. I also went a little nutso
and added seed beads & sequins to this. I also have to say that the brads paired with the cork board elements are a really nice contrast on a page.

This is proof that I HATE to commit (especially when it comes to sticking things on my page). I matted my chipboard alphas to black cardstock and then fussy cut about 2 mm border around each letter. I then over lapped some alphas using pop dots for dimension.
Sequin & bead close-up.
All items from kit EXCEPT chipboard alphas, beads, sequins & Mini alphas (cosmo cricket)

This is a Mother's Day Card that I made.
(Ribbon, alphas & black cardstock NOT from kit)

And Lastly, this is just a simple card I threw together to keep in my card stash for  'just-in-case'.

I have one more project to share but it is uploading upside down for some reason,
so I will have to try to fix it and post it later this week.
Have a FABULOUS week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Big Hair

Scrap Yourself!!
Today marks the FIRST reveal for my new DT on Scrap Yourself! The challenge this week is to scrap a picture of yourself in HIGHSCHOOL! ACK!

Here I am at the tender age of 18, in my prom dress and my hair has it's own ZIP CODE! BIG HAIR was 'it' in the 90's and I remember spending about THREE hours on this 'do.  Oh what I could do with those three hours these days-I certainly wouldn't be doing my hair. Laugh. For this assignment, I broke out one of my much neglected Studio Calico kits and got to work.

Supplies: Cardstock-Bazzill (white) Paper-Collage Press, Sassafras, Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye Alphas-American Crafts (yellow) October Afternoon (mini's) Pins-Heidi Grace Buttons-unknown Black Zig pen Glass beads- $1 Store
