Silly Rabbit

I have a couple more LOs to share today using the versatile August Hip 2-B Square kit.
I just love the contrasting bright & sunny colors with the black & white patterns.
It just makes me happy.

Say Cheese!

Happy Monday!
I have another Hip 2-b Square LO to share today from the August kit.
On this LO, I got craftyand fussy cut alot of the Polaroid pictures out of the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper. Then I decided that it looked too busy, so I softened it up a bit with some white doilies, white cardstock pieces & Huey's Mister in Calico White. I love using white to balance my LOs and it's a great trick to keep in mind.

Wedding Day

How ironic that on the day of our 12th Anniversary, I have a wedding LO to share also.
I love happy accidents!

This pic was a candid photo from our photographer and has always been one of my faves from that day. I don't care that my dress isn't straight and my veil was blowing around, I just LOVE the natural expressions on our faces.

This LO is another project from the August Hip kit.
I always struggle with pretty LOs, especially wedding themed. I love fun embellishments and color and I have a hard time making a LO true to my style when I have to scale the palette back and work with fewer colors. When I saw all the black, white and neutrals in this kit, I knew I would give it a 'go' again and am pretty pleased with the results.

**sorry for the bad picture of the LO, I have NO idea what is going on with  my camera lately or if I am creating the problem with editing. If anyone has any insight into what I may be doing wrong, I would LOVE some help ;)

The LO is of my Dad & his new wife who got married last year. I have already scrapped their pictures and made them a wedding book but printed extras off for myself and made a page for my own scrapbook. I was really nervous on this day - not only was I the (very ammature) photographer for the day but I was also stepping in as 'Best Man' for my hubby who could not make it.
I was so very honored that they entrusted me with 2 of these duties but was also scared out of my mind. I don't handle authority well and am totally a 'worker bee' - ready to pitch in and help when need be - but PLEASE don't put me in charge of annything or make me the center of attention in any way. EEK.

All in all, I am pretty happy with the way this turned out (for a change).
What do you think? Still too playful for such a momumental occasion?
Did I miss the mark? I'd really LOVE your feedback.

Now I am off to work on my Hubby's Anniversary gift, hopefully he likes it.

Self Portrait

Last week during one of our outings, Little Man and I thought it would be fun to take an end of Summer self portrait (he used his Nintendo DS which I LOVE  - he can share pics of what he finds fun & interesting). I did a starburst pattern with my August Hip kit on my LO that is one of the trends right now and just LOVED the way that it looked (once I stitched it of course).
I also fussy cut the teal border from a sheet of October Afternoon included with the kit.

I have a few cards to share from the August Hip 2-b Square kit today too.

Thanks for popping in! Happy Friday!

Swing

It seems like so long ago that my Little Guy would swing in this baby swing, but he loved it and would ask me to push him over and over again. I always loved this great smile of his in these photos.

This was one of my last DT projects for American Crafts.

I mixed a bunch of different lines together for this one, using the August Color Suite Challenge from Scrapbook & Cards Today. This is a really great way to push yourself beyond your comfort zone and try something different in your scrapbooking.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Eighteen

Happy Tuesday!

I can hardly believe that tomorrow is the first day back to school already.
It feels like the Summer season just began and I am SO gunna miss this little boy like crazy tomorrow.

Speaking of time flying: I used to rock this young lady to sleep at night as an infant and used to do EVERYTHING with her. I even took her to get her ears pierced for her 10th birthday. Next month, she will be celebrating her 19th birthday. She is my little sister and there are 20 years between us. EEK!
She has grown into a strong willed, independant, smart & beautiful young woman. I wish I had it 'as together' as she does right now and I am so proud of her. I stole this pic that she posted of her new hair and scrapped it. I hope you don't mind, V!

I recently did a 'card inventory' as well. I have a tonne of 'hi/hello' and 'thank you' cards but always seem to be scrambling for a b-day card, so I made 3 of my 4 cards for this DT assignment as b-day cards. This is one inspired by the stripes on the above LO.
Black & white stripes with teal/yellow, is easily one of my fave combinations - ever!

Favorite 5

Wow!! A year has gone by that quickly??
What a fabulous ride this has been (and a DREAM come true for me).
I still can't believe that I can call myself a part of this American Craft's Design Team Alumni!!
This company has been so wonderfully generous and organized - I am really going to miss being a part of it but am happy to stay a customer and cheer on the 2012-13 DT.
I have to also send a special shout out to Paige Evans - she really is on top of things, always encouraging & wonderful, a FAB designer and a Momma to 2 little babies full time to boot!
I don't know how she does it but she makes it seem effortless and I will be forever in awe of her.
Thank you, Paige! I am really happy to have been on your team this year.

WOW!

Now, on to business.
Hopefully you have just arrived from the Oh-So-Talented Lilith Eekles' blog.
She is crazy talented - make sure you go back and visit her & leave her some love if you haven't been there yet. If you want to start the hop from the beginning, please start HERE.

Before I bid adieu to this team, I wanted to share 5 of my favorite American Crafts LOs.
These are using lines and colors that just make me happy.
I hope you like these too.

Honorable Mentions ;)

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a LO girl and altered items, mini albums and cards do NOT come easily to me.

That being said, I made this wreath of rolled paper flowers & ribbons and it was on my door up until this week. (Now I need to find my fall wreath - eek!)

I LOVE how it turned out and am proud that it was an American Crafts project :)
Supplies: Dear Lizzy line

And last but not least, I want to share this card that I made for my DT application last year.
The bright colors and buttons just make me happy.
I hoarded these supplies for so long, I can't even remember what AC line these papers are from but if you still have some kicking around in your stash, dig it out! It's a wonderful color scheme to play with.

Make sure to head on over to Amy Heller's blog next! This girl is on fire in the scrappy world and one to keep an eye on (and I am a HUGE-HUGE fan of hers).
