First Day

2 posts in 1 day?? Yep!

Did you know that one of my FAVORITE things about going to a crop is the shopping?

I picked up these papers from A Pile of Scrap (who was nice enough to bring their store for the crop) and they are Crate Paper's new release. While the papers used are actually from 2 different lines, I found they went quite nicely together and was really happy with the result. I only completed 2 LOs at the crop  last weekend (one LO I did twice-YIKES!! but NOW I am happy with it :)) and this is the other one. I printed this pic in black and white because the colors in the photo (while vibrant and beautiful) really competed with my papers. I will re-do this LO in 8.5x11" form for LM's 'school album' and will probably do the picture in color next time.

Dreaming in Black & White

Happy Thursday!
I bought this frame months ago in hopes that I would 'do' something with it and a project has finally presented itself! While working with my DT supplies for Momenta, I decided I was going to make something 'pretty' for my scrap room (which has alot of b&w damask patterns). Once I picked the paper, the rest of the project was easy peasy!

To start this one off, I simply cut a piece of the paper to fit my frame (5x7" in this case), and framed it in.
After I did this, I cut a 3x4" (approx) piece of black cardstock & layered it with a creamy colored (less 1/8" all around). I then glued this on TOP of my glass frame-after I centered it by 'eye-balling' it.
I then played around with my alpha stickers until I found an arrangement I liked and glued those down. The next part was the fun part, I made 5 little rossettes (some with a scalloped circle punch & some I cut into rough circles-see tutorial HERE). I then roughly handcut some 'leaves', distressed them and adhered them all to the from of my frame using Stix 2 double sided tape.

I was really happy with the outcome and plan to make another of these nifty little projects.
Thanks for stopping by!

Make sure to check back tomorrow for a new sketch and a blog hop!

We so love this boy

How can it be THIS long since I shared some scrappy pages?
Last week was a pretty busy one, I have been cleaning and MEGA purging and does it feel GREAT!
BUT it has put a serious dent in my computer time. At one point while I was cleaning through my scrap room, I actually contemplated just giving all my supplies away-my room was OUT of control!
Thankfully, I have a better reign on it and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I spent ALL DAY Saturday with some GREAT and funny ladies (Dare I say BFFs? :) ) at an all day crop and my mojo was restored-HARD. I have been scrapping ever since and have LOADS of things to share BUT I think I will save a few for future posts.

In the meantime,This was a LO I did for a challenge on the Scrap Within Reach! blog of my Little Man.
I used their sketch and the Industrial Collection. I haven't scrapped neutrals & dark colors in awhile and it felt good to change it up a bit.
I hope you like it as much as I do!

Thanks for popping by!
I'll have more to share tomorrow.
 Have a Happy Wednesday!

MLS blog hop!

WooooHoooo!

What a big day it is for us here at My Little Shoebox!
Did you know we are having a blog hop??
No?? If you didn't, make sure  to start HERE
(Hop starts at 7AM PST)
and then follow the hop along.
Be sure to leave a comment on everyone's blog (as you are being UBER-inspired by my scrappy team-mates!) and My Little Shoebox will be drawing for a prize for one lucky hopper!

ALSO Paper Crafts is also having a blog hop with a MLS prize to give away.
So make sure to check them out for DOUBLE your chance to win!
How sweet was the project on  Melanie's blog ??

My project is using the new Simple Life Line which has alot of farm images BUT as you can see, I scrapped about my DS's love of my hubby's new truck. The trees and truck worked wonderfully on this LO and you can see that the backsides of the papers are gorgeous enough to use for any type of LO.
I love taking a themed product and mixing it up on a non-themed LO as a challenge to myself every now and again.

The banners are my NEW 'goto' stamp-Now it is super easy to add a banner just about anywhere I wish ;).

Make sure you hop on to Deanna's Blog next and see what scrappy goodness she has for you!!

Thanks a bunch for hopping by!

Dino-ROAR!

Happy Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a 2 new Imaginisce LOs to share with you using the fabulous Dino-ROAR! line and some FABULOUS Provocraft/Cuttlebug products!!

For this LO of my little man & his little friend, I got to play with the Tiny Bubbles (Cuttlebug link CTB-37-1229) embossing folder and the Die 3x3 Funky Circle Frame. I had ALOT of fun with this page :)

A close up of these fabulous Rex & Terry Sticker Stackers .

Another close up of the Dino Denim Stickers and the fab Cuttlebug embossed die cuts (circles) .

**Designer tip: to get the 'zigzag' border, I used a small square punch & adhered the punched shapes on an angle (running half the square under my brown cardstock). This is a great way to use up scraps!
******************

This LO is about my Little Man's facsination with the 'Star of the Day'. This little game was used as a teaching tool and a reward at my son's therapy program and he liked it SO much he would play it with us when he got home as many times as we would go along with it. Needless to say, I HAD to do a LO about it. :)

Close up on one of the 'stars' they made for him at therapy.

That's all I have to share for today!
Thanks for stopping by!

Easter 2010 & Little Man Art

Happy September (and first day of school for all of you local peeps)!!
My 'Baby' started school today and seemed to handle it VERY WELL. I, on the other hand, did not and had a freak out yesterday. He just seems WAY too little to be at school and functioning without me. Luckily, I kept the water works in check this morning and was closely monitored AND entertained ALL day by my oh-so-understanding SIL. She really is the catz meow. Thanks for havin' my back, Lady!

In the meantime, I have a couple of projects that I haven't blogged yet.
I am in the process of purging and cleaning my scrappy room and have decided to part ways with some much loved (albeit older) supplies. Since I have been designing for Imaginisce, My Little Shoebox & Momenta, I have been treated VERY well (I dare say I have been SPOILED) and have not been left to want for much scrap-related lately (although I did snag a Tim Holtz tiny attacher on the weekend and I am THRILLED) and am now running out of room for storage. During my cleaning process, I have discovered some beautiful things I had forgot I had purchased. One being the Sweet Summertime kit from Echo Park.
So I dug out some pics I have been meaning to scrap and went to town.

This first LO is pretty self explanatory. It's Easter. I am sure I have been putting off scrapping it because I am not an 'event' scrapper (for some reason) but I have to say I was pretty happy with this one.The colors in the paper mimicked the colors of the paper, so it was pretty much a no brainer for me.

Supplies: Papers, alphas, border stickers-Echo Park
Labels-My Little Shoebox, Doodlebug Buttons-Basic Grey & from stash

This second LO is one I have had inmy head for awhile. I took pictures of Little Man's artwork and printed them a few months ago. I used a format that I have used in the past but really spent alot of time clustering and layering my embellishments. I think it really gives it that little bit extra  of interest.

MLS projects!

If you are here for the Imaginisce blog hop,
 go HERE and comment. :)

*****************************
If you are just popping in, then I have my very first DT assignments
that I did for My Little Shoebox last month that I can share with you today.

My assignment for August was to do an altered item and 1 LO. I got so into it that I ended up doing TWO altered items and TWO LOs. Needless to say, I was having a total ball with the newly released Green Line.

I bought both of my altered items at the Dollar Store (Dollarama-Surprise!! My Second home).
The sign below is just a plain wooden plank, I un-knotted the cording, applied adhesive (I used the flat tip Tombow for this-all over so that your paper doesn't warp). I also marked a circle on the WRONG side of my paper using the 2 holes as guides and punched them out using my Crop A Dile. I also adhered the scallops on the back, border trims on the front and label the same way. I then pop dotted the tree, adhered, re-threaded my cording through the holes and Voila!! A super-duper quick, inexpensive and easy project :)

That project was so quick and easy that I felt guilty that I did it so fast and whipped this up as well. Both projects probably took me under 2 hrs together. I will personalize this when I decide what I am doing with it.
My friend Heather M. had a great idea of adding some bling (I think this will be a nice contrast to the papers-Thanks, H!)

This LO was ALOT of fun to do. I originally got the idea from a pillow I saw somwhere (I canNOT for the life of me remember if it was online, a mag or WHAT) but I remember it was a wedding theme all in white with some pearl beading. It was a gorgeous project-so much texture.I wondered if the pattern would translate well onto paper and I was REALLY happy with the outcome.
Also, this month My Little Shoebox partnered with Fiskars and we received some FABULOUS punches to work with. We received the Fiskars Effervescence border punch and the Loves Me, Loves Me Not Squeeze punch (I punched 3 per bloom and offset them for fullness).

Thanks so much for visiting and have a terrific day!
I'll have another new project to share with you very soon.
