Sigh...

Autism 101
*****************************
I went to my first Autism 101 session tonight. How surreal of a feeling. We watched a video (in a WAY tiny room & my clausterphobia almost got the better of me in an already tense situation) but I persevered. Whew. No tears although I was close several times. Thankfully I have a hairdo that I can use to hide tears. Every child on that tape was my Little Man. One little kid made the same faces. Another danced around in circles-JUST LIKE HE DOES. Another one talked the SAME way. And what was worse-I SAW MYSELF in those parents that were interacting with their children.

It is VERY easy to be in denial in my little cocoon here at home but out in the real world, in THAT environment, it is not easy at all. Then we had a discussion period afterward. So many parents (I'd say there were about 15 of us) ALL had such similar experiences to mine. And some were harder experiences than mine. I was torn between wanting to cry & simutaneously run over and hug them.

MAN!! I hope the next session is less emotional.

ANYWAY. The reason for my post is a DT reveal at Scraplovers ( I promised myself this would be a 'scrappy' blog but I HAD to get that out. If you are still reading, THANK YOU)

I got a fabulous kit including Basic Grey's new Porcelain line/Marrakech line, New Pebbles & New Cosmo Cricket. My posts were a bit late this month because my kit took awhile to get here and I am still in a bit of a scrappy slump. I hope it goes away soon.

Shy Girl
This LO was done with BG's new Porcelain.
Damask design cut from CI paper.
Alphas & tape measure from Teresa Collins.
I was at a crop a couple of weeks ago and we all had to introduce ourselves to the group. I was almost last and by the time it was my turn, I was quite stressed (I am REALLY shy and hate talking in front of people). I had actually said that during my introduction and the girl sitting next to me said she would never have believed that based on my 'online persona' LOL. I knew I would HAVE to scrap that little bit of my personality. TFL!
Journalling: 'I am sometimes mistaken for being snobby. But I'm not. People are always surprised to learn that I am shy IRL."

Now & Then
Using the new Girl Friday/Little Man papers. TFL!
This LO is about a span of 3 years difference bew=tween Little Man's 1st and 4th birthdays. TFL!
Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to pop in tomorrow night as we have a reaveal for MIXER NUMBER 13!!!

Good Grief! I haven't posted in AWHILE........

OKAY. I went to the FUN-NEST scrappy retreat 2 weekends ago (put on by A Pile of Scrap in Fredricton). The food was AWESOME. The sleeping arangements were 'interesting' (we were in cabins with bunk beds-Thank GOD I got a bottom bunk!) BUT a GOOD time was had by all. I went there knowing only ONE person and made some GREAT friends while I was there. WE LAUGHED, SHOPPED and SCRAPPED our faces OFF!
However. I came home with the WORST SCRAPPY hangover EVER!! I was tired, napping and didn't want to scrap at ALL!! (WTH!!??!! I scrap EVERY day!!) I scrapped QUITE a bit while I was there (I did 5 LOs there and got them all MOSTLY finished-I had to put the finishing touches on at home). I will share over the course of the next few days.

BUT I have to share this LO I did with my Just Cre8 DT kit about the first sign of spring. This got some chuckles but REALLY-I see a Timmie's 'Roll up the Rim' and I am thinking warmer afternoons driving around with a coffee. A few people have told me it makes them feel spring-y too!!

All items from the April Just Cre8 kit which can be seen HERE: http://justcre8.com/index.html

HAPPY MONDAY, Everyone!!

(BTW-JJ?? I got the EK Success punch at Michael's of ALL places!)

My First DT Reveal at Just Cre8 today!

Happy Sunday, Party Peeps!
****************************************
Well, it seems like my Little Man might be out of the woods as far as the Dreaded FLU goes and he actually ASKED for breakfast this AM and ATE it! I SO hope my little sickie is on the mend. Thanks for all of your well wishes, Girlies!
I have a few new projects to share from my Just Cre8 reveal.
You can see the full kit here: http://justcre8.com/index.html

It is CHOCK-FULL of vibrant oranges, greens & pinks and was RIGHT up my scrappy ALLEY!
(I haven't had a chance to edit all the images, so my apologies for some being a little dark.
**************************************************

Today I...

I knew as SOON as I saw this page of die cuts that I would use them as my primary focus on a page. I intended to do a NO Pattern Paper LO but in the end I caved-I needed to anchor the photo. I STILL love the effect anyway. TFL!

All items from April 09 Scrap Pack.
I really like the idea of a 365 journal but I am NOT focused to do it everyday. So I thought I would just do random dates here and there that are important to me. This is the second I have done so far and it's just a reflection of what my life was like on Thursday.
****************************************************

IPOD

OMGosh! I am SO loving the bright colors of these papers.
I hand cut the vine border out of one of the sheets and then pop-dotted it. The circles were punched with a circle punch and doodled. I SO LOVE this kit! TFL!!
All items from the April Scrap pack except for Brown Polka dot paper- Doodlebug
LO is about my Little Man playing on DH's new Ipod

Scrapbook Sussies GDT Reveal

Happy Wednesday, Everybody!!

What a week we have been having. Both of my Guys have the FLU. ACK!
I have been waist deep in laundry and buckets for 2 days. Thankfully, one seems to be on the mend. My Big Guy has been knocked flat out though. :(

But onto Sunshine and Spring!!
At least that is what this kit from Scrapbook Sussies has me thinking about. SPRING! **Sigh**
These bright and colorful papers had me thinking of rainbows and blue skies. I was THRILLED to dig into such a YUMM-A-LISCIOUS kit! And WHAT IS A SUSSIE you ask?? It is a really sweet homage to the owner's Mom. You should read about it here: http://www.scrapbooksussies.com/sussie.html

Mixer # 9 is up! Woohoo!!!!!!!

Happy Hump day, Peeps!
--------------------------------------------------

Did anyone else just watch LOST?? OMG!!!
Anyway, that is all I will say. I don't want to ruin it for anyone
BUT
OH . MY . GOD!!!

I wanted to share a new LO with you for Mix it Up's 9th mixer!!
(check it out: http://mixitupchallenges.blogspot.com/2009/03/mixer-9.html )

Everyone that participates this month will be eligible to win a prize from our March Sponsor, Magistical Memories (you can see the prize info here: http://mixitupchallenges.blogspot.com/2009/03/march-sponsor-commanditaire-pour-le.html )

Here is my LO. The challenge for Mixer 9 was to use a recycled item and I was able to incorporate two items. The first was a raw piece of chipboard that comes on the back of a paper pack (I used this as my base) and the second is the corrugated cardboard that I traced from a stencil, cut and added some paint to the edges for interest. I am really enjoying the look of curruagted cardboard on my LOs.

So moving on..... ;)

The day started like any other Friday. We went to the mall, printed pictures, story time at the library, a bit of shopping & lunch at McDonald's. Then we came home and you did "IT". After months of pleading, begging & bribing-you were just 3 days passed your 4th birthday. Unprompted.
You 'pottied' all on your own.
