Sunshine

I decided this year to do Little Man's first year scrapbook over.
My 12x12 albums are too big to store (and scrapping for almost 8 years straight, I have A LOT of pages stored) and having them accessible is difficult. I really want to be able to pull his albums out and look at them - isn't that what this scrapbooking thing is all abut after all?
I have only a few more pages left - I got 2 more done with this kit  and this is one :)
I just love those cute, chubby, pink cheeks of his when he was teething.

On this page, I went a bit back to my roots of hand - stitching on my LO. I used a stamp from last month's kit in yellow ink and then outlined it with coordinating embroidery floss. I also broke out some Mister Huey's mist from past kits as well. Even though this kit is travel themed (Planes, Trains & Automobiles), I thought it was the perfect fit for scrapping my boy and didn't do even ONE travel/vacation LO with this kit (which is what I thought I would be scrapping when I first saw it).

Hello

Happy Happy Thursday, Friends & Fellow Scrappers!
Today I have 2 projects to share from the June Hip 2-b Square kit (+Add ons).
The first is a card that I did (and LOVE - it's not often that I am really pleased with my cards but I was super proud of them this month!!)

This LO uses a lot of the washi sheet of paper that was included in our kit (and barely any pattern paper either.) I did this LO on vacation - old school- no punches or fanciness. Just brought my trimmer, adhesive and scissors. I traced glasses found in the cabin cupboard for my circles. I ended up doing my stitching when I got back home.

And while I am at it - check out the August kit that was posted on the Hip blog yesterday!

I always feel like a kid at Christmas when my kit comes and I canNOT wait for this one!

You are So Sweet

I normally have NO LUCK with cards but was pleasantly surprised at how happy I was with my cards this month. Maybe it was the embossing that made the difference - I'm not sure. But I am still thrilled to share them and my LOs from the June Hip 2-B Square kit with you.

This LO has one teeny piece of pattern paper on it (the black that says 'today' the rest is washi tape). There were so many embellishments in this kit, I didn't really need to dive into my June kit paper stash for this one.

Hello Sunshine

Happy Monday Scrappy Peeps!
I have a quick post today showcasing the June Kit from Hip 2-b Square.
This card uses NO pattern paper at all - only cardstock and embellishments.
Since Kimbery's kits are always chock-full of little extras, there are always PLENTY of embellies to use up on cards after I am done my LOs.

**All products are June kit + Add-ons from Hip 2-b Square,
with the exception of embossing folder (*Stampin' Up! & Mister Huey's from a
previous kit)

For this page, I was inspired by a project I saw on Pinterest (see link below) using the same stencil but not the mist I used on my previous attempts. I used water colour pencils and was floored by the effect. I then added a bit of stitching and outlined a few of my shapes with the pencils again when my watercolour dried. I next stamped butterflies on top of my circles - and the result was less than spectacular, so I set to stamping the images again on plain white cardstock, fussy cut them out and adhered them on top of my 'hot-mess stamping' with foam dots. LOVE this technique much more.

**All products are June kit + Add-ons from Hip 2-b Square,
with the exception of  water colour pencils(*Kimberly brand), buttons (from my stash)
& Studio Calico mask/Misters (all from previous Hip kits)

**This project was inspired by a page from Agomalley on 2Peas.

Bella! At Last & My Romance

I have two MORE Bella! Sneaks to share with you today.
These lines are a bit different than the two I shared yesterday. While they both have wonderfully soft colour pallettes, they have a wonderful colour scheme.
Again, I can totally see myself scrapping 'non-wedding' pages with both of these lines.
My Romance has me thinking sweet baby LOs and At Last - HELLO!
Feathers, stripes, hearts!!! This will be a joy to use - what WON'T I scrap with this line may be the question here.

The peeks really don't do them enough justice. They are just gorgeous IRL.

There are still a few more peeks coming- I can't wait to see what else is up with RRBF's scrappy sleeve - I am sure there is some Christmas stuff coming my way next ;).

Pit Stop

Happy Saturday!
Today I have a LO to share using the June Hip 2-B Square kit.

I did this LO on vacation a few weeks ago.
I wouldn't normally bring scrap work with me - but I knew that I would have some quiet time each night while we were all talking and just hanging out together. I grabbed my kit, a few necessities (trimmer, adhesive, journalling pen & scissors) and made do with what I had.
It was kind of nice to be forced to get creative and go 'old school'. On this LO, I layered several portions of paper on top of one pre-cut rectangle. I layered it on a solid piece of cardstock and added strips of trimmed washi-paper on both ends. I love how quickly and easily this page came together.

Bella! Celebrate & Betrothed

I have to say, when I learned that Bella's new lines were wedding themed, I panicked - just a little bit.
Scrapbooking my wedding photos is always incredibly tough for me and scrapbooking 'pretty' is even tougher (if you know ANYthing about my scrapping, you know that I love bright, bold & boyish).

When I got these lines and saw them IRL, all I can say is 'whew!'
They are really pretty AND there is plenty about the papers that is 'non-wedding'. LOTS and LOTS of beautiful neutral patterns and colours. I can't wait to use these lines on 'non-wedding' pages.
I may even be inspired to work on my wedding album (FINALLY).
I have some ideas.
Stay tuned ;)

I Love Being Your Mom

Hello Friends!!

Today I have a LO to share that I totally forgot about!
EEK!

I did this LO for Kimberly at Hip 2-B Square using the April/May kit + Add-ons.
A current trend that I am all about lately is the diagonal line. I love doing anything that doesn't come off as too perfect (ie: straight titles, graph like designs, etc.) because I am always making things a bit crooked anyway, so I figure instead of driving myself batty trying to get everything straight and lined up - just start off purposefully messing things up and save myself some sanity ;)

I love Sasha Farina's blog - that girl is the queen of the hand stitched LO -
and I was TOTALLY inspired by her blog to break out the needle and thread for this LO.
If you have never been to her blog before - you NEED to check her out!

Ruby Rock-it & Twinery Blog Hop

Hello Friends!

I know it has been a while since I have posted. We had SO much going on the past few weeks:
End of year field trips, closing concerts, vacation & a minor patch of extremely great weather. Today we got back to it and I had a few crazy boys to entertain/wrangle/pacify/feed/etc/etc/etc ;) As crazy, dirty and loud as it can be, I wouldn't trade any of these little guys- I just love having the bunch of them in my home and it's wonderful company for my own little boy. ;)

But enough about me - let's start the blog hop!!
Hopefully, you are arriving here from Kellie's fabulous blog, but if not, start here: The Twinery Blog and get hopping :)

I use twine on almost every LO and have alot of Twinery brand in my stash. For this LO, I used the honeydew shade in bits and pieces tucked into my flower clusters.

I also wanted to make a divide to my page, so I simply sewed on 2 buttons and wrapped the twine around them several times and secured with a knotted bow. I think this is a great focal point and draws your eye to the photo & title work.

Last but not least, here is the full version of my LO (pardon the 14 year old pics of me and my hubby - hard to believe how much time can change a couple's looks ;) )

To be eligible for the combined Ruby Rock-it/Twinery prize, please see the COMPLETE contest details on THIS POST.

Now the best part:
Wanna know how you can win all this??

Here's how you can win:

** Visit each participating designer's blog
each day on the hop & leave a comment.
{make sure you include your email address so we can contact you if you win}
