Snow Fun

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a crop with some fun ladies and got to play with this Wintertime Echo Park paper pack that I have been holding onto. Luckily with the crazy and atypical amounts of snow we have been seeing in our town, I had some fun pictures to use with it.
I also used my new Mr Huey (in white) mister from Studio Calico on the background. It has a really nice opaque finish and covers well on the brown cardstock and didn't break the bank either.
I will definately be on the lookout for other colors to add to my collection.

It's Hip 2 Be Square

Hi Friends!
I have to say, each kit from Hip 2B Square seems to get better and better (if that is possible) and this last kit is my new favorite. I have to say I loved the bright & Spring-y papers-they really helped bring me out of this 'white-out' existance I have been living in my town this season.
Hopefully you are in a warmer & more colorful climate, if not-I hope this brings some color to your day!

**To see kit contents go HERE**

Yes, another 2 pager! And 8.5x11" at that!

This kit is SO generous that I actuallyhave some cards to share too!
Stay tuned! ;)

Thanks for stopping by-I REALLY appreciate your visit!
Happy Friday!

Sunday Market

I have a couple of new My Little Shoebox layouts to share with you today :)
I have been experimenting with 2 pagers a bit lately. Not sure why but I am really liking the change. I have been told that 2 page LOs were all the rage before I started scrapping, I think I must have missed this trend.

I was so excited when I saw the new circle diecuts that were the CHA-W release for MLS that I set right to work making my own. I started with this piece of patterned paper.

This one was really easy-I traced a circle using a mixing bowl (you don't really expect me to use them for cooking, do you??) and then trimmed the scallops off. After seperating each arc shape from each other, just reassemble them around your circle and adhere (it takes a little bit of extra work) and then finish it off with some stitching (mine is doodled).

**double click on the LO to see the whole image**
All supplies with the exception of trim, doilie, tags & die cut cardstock are My Little Shoebox, Sunday Market

This LO is about 1 of my favorite types of flowers (I got these for my birthday a few years ago). You'll notice I matted some of the patterns to give them a bit of pop this technique is a great way to use up some of those smaller scraps of dark cardstock you may have hanging around. I also layered my sticker elements and popped them with foam adhesive for added punch.

Thanks for popping by- Sorry this post is a bit short, I am still a bit sick with this cold. I am hoping to back to 'normal' any day now.

Welcome Back. Blah. ;)

OK, so yesterday, my cold came BACK-it was TOTALLY on it's way out and today I am SO sore-you know when you cough SO much and SO hard that the next day it hurts to blink and the roots of your hair hurt?? Not sure if my pain is compounded by the fact that I was carrying the snow I was shovelling yesterday about 10 feet everytime I picked up a scoop of it, but today-I hurt and I hurt BAD. SO please forgive me if this post is very short BUT I just love these LOs that I have done over the last few weeks and really want to get them posted while they are still making the papers ;)

I scored this Little Boy line by Echo Park at the last crop I attended in KV (and if you are local, there is another one this Saturday and it's a steal at only $25 and the food is wonderful and HOMEmade! And the proceeds go to a worthy cause for the school's Rennisance program). I talked myself out of buying the whole line as I have a REAL issue with paper hoarding and am kicking myself  for missing out as I want to hang on to every little scrap of it that I have. Maybe I will make up for it with teh 'For the Record' line by EP. Again-TOTALLY gets to my paper/color addiction.

This layout is of my Little Man and darling Little Nephew. I just love how they both light up when I take their picture (mind you, they don't always get along that well-they both have a case of 'only child syndrome'-but they REALLY do adore each other-most of the time ;)) I paired this line with some older American Crafts alphas that I had kicking around.

I knew as soon as I saw the trains on the sticker sheet that they were a must-have and am so glad I found a use for them instead of just looking at them like I normally do. Again, this LO is using the Little Boys line from EP with more American Crafts alphas thrown in for good measure.

And didn't I say that I can't throw out even the smallest of pieces??!! I managed this little card too.
(The tiny alphas are from Cosmo Cricket)

This last LO is using the Walk in the Park line & the Sweet Summer line (again from Echo Park).
The LO is about the little project Little Man brought home from school the first week and I was SO touched (and yes-I even carried my hand around for a bit ;) ) The green corrugated alphas are from Jillibean Soup and the actual hand he made me is tucked behind my hidden journalling on the 'notes' card. My hand writing is ATROCIOUS lately so I am looking for anyway to hide it that I can.

OK-I have typed WAY more than I planned, so on that note,
I am going to leave you with a 'Peace Out!'

Thanks for popping in-I hope to have some new work for you inthe very near future with the CHA-W release of My Little Shoebox.

"Happy ValenTIMES!"

I SERIOUSLY love the way little kids sometimes mess up the English language and this sentiment is no exception. I know I should be correcting my little guy but this Momma thinks she will hang on to this little 'baby-ism' awhile longer yet. ;) He just seems to be growing up WAY too fast these days.

In the meantime, I am so sorry I have neglected my blog this past week. I have been fighting this rotten cold, was on the mend and then BOOM!!! RELAPSE! today. :(  I know I can't put it off much longer, so here is to breathing through one nostril while typing, punctuated by coughing.

The 2 cards I have to share with you today were made from the January Hip2 B Square kit (pictured below). It's REALLY versatile, as you will see when I share a few of the LOs that I have done with it, but I couldn't avoid making a few Lovey-Dovey cards using this sweet heart paper from Basic Grey.
The darling banners also came with the kit and are from Sassafras-I really think they finish off the cards.
You can see the complete kit contents listed HERE.
AND you can snag one of these nifty kits VERY soon HERE.

AND before I go, I want to point you in the My Little Shoebox Blog direction-
My teamates have out-done themselves and created some FABULOUS Valentine's day and love themed cards!

And 1 last thing I want to show you.
My home-made 'scrapbooked' card made by my Little Man for me & Hubs.
I think this is the best Valentine's day YET!
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Smooches!
