WOOHOO! Mixin' it UP!

My LO is featured at http://mixitupchallenges.blogspot.com/ today! There is an FABU sketch and color scheme posted to introduce the site (check it out!) and my interpretation is up (finally! I have been DYING to show someone :) )

Next week is the start of the weekly challenges. Melanie has some AWESOME inspiration to post and challenges will run weekly as well as a DT reveal so be sure to bookmark this FAB site and check back often. I also know that Melanie is also working on prize sponsors but the sketches by Day and challenges alone will keep you coming by again and again.

I REALLY loved this LO. I got to sneak pink in on a 'BOY' page and I am always THRILLED when that happens because ANYONE who knows me know I LOVE scrapping in PINK!

Thanks for looking!

Throwing my hat in the ring!

'Blue Skies & Rainbows'

This is my app for DT at CMK. The assignment is to dig through your stash and create a kit and then use the kit items and make (at LEAST ) 2 layouts. This was ALOT of fun and something that I plan to do again! :)

My kit consists of:
3 Prism Cardstock (2 x black, 1 x white)
1 Die Cut paper (Jenni Bowlin)
1 Fabric paper (Love Elsie)
6 pattern papers (Heidi Swapp, Cosmo Cricket, Creative Cafe, Sassafras Lass)
1 sheet stickers (Creative Cafe)
1 sheet 'cut your own accents' (Rusty Pickle)
1 sheet die cuts/1 sheet strip tease (Cosmo Cricket)
1 sheet rubons (EK Success)
1 trancparency (Fancy Pants)
1 set alphas (Thickers)
Assorted Buttons, ribbons, ric rak
Chipboard (Maya Road)
Ticket strips from Local Amusement area

This LO is as fun as the 'OUTAKE' picture :) I added pop dots to the embellies at the bottom to make the LO POP a bit more. I chose to NOT mat the white alphas and just doodle a bit around the exterior. I really like the white on white and think this technique is really striking IRL.

For this LO, I double matted the alphas to make them more 'cosmic' looking and then added black cardstock to make the colors pop. These are also layered on top of each other for added interest.

For this LO, I traced my die cut paper in the kit and hand cut and used the NEGATIVE of the cardstock and layered it onto this yummy sass fras paper. Although the red paper is not a Christmas pattern, I felt it added an awesome contrast to the green.

This is a LO I did of 2 friends cars that bunked in my yard for a weekend. One is a Beamer and the other a Smart car. It got alot of looks as people passed by. Since it is an odd picture, I tried to mirror that by using the odd colors of paper that were left over. I pretty happy with how this kit turned out.
Wish me luck!

'Tis the season

Where has the month gone?? We have the tree up, the house is 'kinda' decorated. The hedges are FINALLY lit and the wreaths out. Most of the shopping is done and wrapped-BUT it still feels like we aren't ready and the month has FLOWN by!!

The good news is, Little Man is FINALLY getting the hang of opening presents, LOVES Santa and even helped me decorate the tree this year. It is TOTALLY not how we usually decorate it but it might be the most beautiful tree we have ever had. This is going to be a great Christmas!

I have been working on ALOT of projects but am not ready to post them all yet. But I CAN post a LO I did based on the sketch challenge Wednesday night from http://www.pawsonscrapbooking.com/ . Thanks for looking , have a great Saturday night!

This is a LO of a friend's little girl who just had her 4th birthday. Isn't she the cutest thing??

This was done using a new line of papers: Black River Designs. They are really fabulous!
They are a thick weight, gorgeous colors and they are designed in my home town!

Woohoo! New Challenge Blog!

Woohoo! I am so happy to finally share that I was invited to be a member of the http://mixitupchallenges.blogspot.com/ Design Team!! This is a Challenge blog which means that some weeks there will be a color pallette challenge, others a sketch, and sometimes a word will be given and you can draw inspiration form that. The rest of the DT is FAB U LOUS and I am THRILLED to be part of it :) The site launched yesterday and challenges officially start in January. It is a REAL treat :) Make sure you stop by and check it out!

Ooops! 1 more project

I forgot this one little gem!

We almso got a Basic Grey board book in our DT kit but since
I just completed my December Daily album, inspired by http://aliedwards.typepad.com/ , so I used my board book and made some ornaments instead. These are a breeze to whip up and take no time at all, once you come up with the original design.

Reveal day at Paws

It is with a bit of sadness that I say this is my last Paws DT kit. Although it is definately time for a break after 2 years, I have really enjoyed my time on this team and Janique has been so fabulous to design for. Janique, I will always be grateful that you took a chance and believed in me. Thank you.

This kit included papers from Momento, Basic Grey, Pink Paislee, alphas from Wild Asparagus, Rubons from Pink Paislee and a chipboard book from Basic Grey.
I got alot of milage out of this kit, I also did 2 12x12 LOs and got 5 cards done as well.

The banner is made from cardboard, I made four equal triangles and cut them out, then altered and linked with ribbon, held in place with stitched buttons.
