Christmas Eve did NOT go as planned BUT-

-it was the best one EVER!!
We went to SIL's for seafood chowder (which was the catz MEOW, BTW) and all the people, noise, commotion was TOO much for my Little MAN -He does NOT like crowds, commotion-we are pretty mellow and laid back in our family-(plus he fell and smashed his face on a planter outside only MINUTES before we had got there.. His 5 year old cousin was having a BALL with a digi camera, flashes going off in all directions-you get the idea) So a meltdown ensued and then he was just having no part of the festivities, tears and heartbreak-it was rough. No amount of comforting helped, all he could say was 'jacket' and 'car' so we ended up packing it in and heading home after about 15 mins
Little Man is going through a 'snowman/snowball' phase-just loving EVERYthing 'snow'-LOL. THANKFULLY, it was SO warm out and not raining yet. The snow was PERFECT for snowman building, so we played outdoors in our yard until bed time.
THIS is how our night ended. It was SO much fun. Maybe the best C-mas eve we have ever had.

Glad it worked out!
So hard when you go out and the kids are not happy-- been there!
Tonight, Sage started singing Away in a Manger for her grandma and I was videotaping her. Well her brother who was accompaning her on the pinao went too fast and she lost it in the third verse, she started crying and carrying on. Yeah, that made a nice video... LOL!! The memories...

You know, I can totally sympathise with your little man - it can easily get too much. But isn't it super how it turned around to be an awesome day for you in the end? Totally love that snowman

Sounds like a rocky start, but a fantastic ending. I'm so glad you listened to your little man and followed your hearts. Looks like he ended up having a wonderful time, and that's really what counts.
