A Little Peek

Hi Everybody! I hope your week is less wet than mine!
I have a few new projects to share this week but only 2 today. The first one is a card I made with The Sussies DT kit. How Yummy and devine is this new line of papers from American Crafts?? The second is this LO: it's hard to believe the girls were ever this small and are both SIXTEEN now! I am looking at this in disbelief wondering if the time will go by as quickly for my Little Man-I really hope not.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Happy mom moment! (and a new card!)

My Little Man has a FRIEND!
* * * * * *

TODAY was my baby boy's first ALL boy birthday party!!
I was SO THRILLED that there were other children with the same skill set as LM (a few were even from his clinic) and he just ran around & played.
And he FIT RIGHT IN with all the kids.
AND he has FRIENDS!
Normally these sorts of things are always SO stressful
because Little Man doesn't always behave the way the rest of the kids do
and I always worry that other people will think that he is mis-behaved when in fact he just doesn't cope well in new situations and has a hard time relating to his peers. He has a good heart and just wants to play with the other children, he just doesn't have the communication or social skills to do it (YET! ;)).
I am just SO proud of him and SO happy that he had fun.
He REALLY enjoyed playing with the other kids and I am so
HAPPY and relieved that he had a good time.
Can you tell that this was as exciting for me as it was for him??

As it turns out, this little boy loves Thomas the Train as much
as LM does, so I made him a TTT birthday card and altered the gift bag
with his monogram. I was really happy with the result (now I wish I could just remember WHERE I bought that darn Thomas paper-it wasn't at Micheal's when I checked today and I was SURE that was where I got it.
YIKES. I MAY be in trouble.LOL)
Not alot of product on this one. I got the gift bag, card base at the $1 Store (dollarama). I was excited to find them plain-ish and picked up a few extra!
Paper-EK Success, Studio 8 (pale blue), corrugated cardboard-$1 store, Rubon (happy b-day)-Creative Cafe, ribbon-unknown, Chipboard 'M'-Scenic Route, notebook paper punch-EK Success.
Thanks for popping in! Happy Saturday!

But I still wanted to share them-maybe I will be able to try again this week. (and NO there is nothing wrong with your eyes & YES, I did use ALOT of PURPLE!!LOL)
Wish me luck!

360 Degrees of U2

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GUESS where I was this weekend! Seeing THESE guys perform!!
(image from: Here)
Seriously-I saw the MOST amazing concert of my life in Boston this weekend. U2 was SO FULL of ENERGY. They moved ALL around THIS stage (which was designed to look like a launch pad, COMPLETE with a rocket ship peeking from the top). The center cone looking thing was a tubular screen that could come apart, move upward AND downward. Completely and FABULOUSLY incredible. Even if you went to this concert as a so-so fan, you would most likely leave as a HUGE fan. When Bono sang ONE, With or Without You & Where the Streets have No Name, I had goosebumps.

(Image from: HERE)

I have to say this was definately the best concert I have ever seen in my life.

Thanks for popping by! I will have some new scrappy stuff to share this week :)

Happy Tuesday!

Mixer 29!

This mixer REALLY had me thinking. Along with Juliana's AWESOME sketch, we had to use masking tape & aluminum. This REALLY got me thinking because I had forgotton all about THAT part and had most of my LO done. I decided to use the masking tape as a layer on the paper/accordian flower that I was making. In the end, it gave the 'flower' a really nice 2 tone effect. The second requirement was to use aluminum on my LO. So I figured it would be easy enough to change the appearance of a button (whose color I did NOT enjoy) by putting foil all around it. I think this was another nice touch to the LO.

Close up of aluminum foil used to cover over button.

Thanks for
popping in! Happy Wednesday!

New Layout (and it's Yellow!)

Today feels like MONDAY.
I don't know why but it does.
I think I am coming down with a cold BUT I guess that is bound to happen at this point. And migraines keep hitting me (I think it is the air pressure changing-they always seem to be worse at this time of year.)

BUT all of that isn't dampening my spirits! Check out my fun and sunny LO! (and I think I may have a bit of an addiction to clouds lately too-LOL). I tried a bit of a different style here and I don't know if it's a dud but I REALLY like it. It is about a birthday party we went to last month-it had a pirate theme and there was lots of fun dressing up and eye patches GALORE!

Supplies used:
pp-Jenni Bowlin, Sassafras Lass, Die cut label (blue)/tree- My Mind's Eye
CS-American craft, alphas- Sassafras Lass, Buttons-unknown, Chipboard (arrow)-Colorbok,
Black Pen-Zig, Corrugated cardboard (Clouds)-$1 store (traced from Cosmo Cricket cloud)
Ribbon-Fancy Pants/$1 store

Some new cards :)

I have been playing with some of my stamp stash lately and have been having LOTS of fun with it. I broke out these little honies and made a couple of cards.

The penguin & 'sunshine' stamp are from Imaginisce. I used Black Stazon Ink and colored them in with Bic/Sharpie Markers.
* * * * * * * *

The Robot & space ship are Inique Boutique Stamps. The sentiment are cheapies I picked up at Michael's from the $1.50 bin. I again used Stazon & Sharpies.

Thanks for popping by! Have a great weekend!

New LOs and a fun new techique :)

Happy(early) Thursday People!

I have been playing with scrappy supplies (it's always such a treat to dig into your own stash of scraps and just go with it!) This Lo is a re-do x two! I did it a LONG time ago and was never really happy with it, so I took it apart and re-did it again (and absolutely HATED IT-LOL) and this is my third attempt. Three times a charm!

This is DS's third b-day in which he LOVED the hat but not the feeling of the elastic around his neck, so he found a way to perch it on his head in such a way that his hair held the elastic and hat on his head.

Supplies- Cardstock-Bazzill swiss dot, Prism, the Paper Company, Papers- cosmo cricket, Sassafrass Lass, Chipboard-Cosmo (clouds), Stamps- My Stampbox (Birthday), Autumn Leaves (Hat), Studio Calico (scalloped corner accent), Black Stazon, Ribbon-$1 store, buttons-unknown, black zig pen & white Uniball gel pen, Martha Stewart Punch (Loops).

* * * * * * *

This is another re-do. I only attempted this one ONE TIME and adore the way it turned out.

For the orange pattern paper, I used a rubber seat gripper for lack of a better term) that I bought at the $1 Store, placed it over my white cardstock and sprayed it with Maya Road Mist in orange. Then I did the old standard of tracing a template, cutting and matting it. I was REALLY happy with the color and how it turned out. This was a really easy technique and the paper dried really fast and didn't bubble or curl.

Supplies- Cardstock-Bazzill, the Paper Company, Paper-DCWV, Chipboard-Cosmo Cricket, Stamps-My Stamp Box (Special Kid), Michael's Bargain section (tiny alphas), Ink-black Stazon, Deco Scissors, Buttons-unknown (from stash)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Happy Tuesday!

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend!
I want to scrap ALL weekend. I picked out pictures and cropped them and THAT is where it ended. Hopefully that will end this week. :) In the meantime, I have a new LO to share (I worked on this one off and on LAST WEEK-LOL). I am still not sure if it needs something else but figured I'd quit while I was ahead and still liked it. I finally used up some of my new June Bug papers!
This LO is about DS's love of his teddy (whom he calls 'Tebby'). This poor raggedy things goes EVERYWHERE with him.

Ack! I missed my post goal :(

WHERE did August go??
I neglected my blog a bit-we had BEAUTIFUL (and very HOT/sticky) weather in the month of August and I tried to get as much outdoor time in as I could with LM. PLUS he was OFF for a week this month and I had 5 days spent trying to keep him occupied. We had LOADS and LOADS of fun though for the most part. We spent a day at an indoor play park, played outside, a day at the mall. I REALLY miss LM through the week and tried to take advantage of our time together (plus I CLEANED my house like nobody's business for one of those days). So in saying ALL of that, I missed my 13 post goal! Maybe this month-LOL.
Today, I have the Sussies September reveal to show you. Have a peek. You can pick up this yummy & colorful kit HERE. It's FULL of My Mind's Eye (Penny Lane) & Little Yellow Bicycle (Yellow Zinnia) with some FABULOUS Websters alpha stickers and TONNES of embellies.
