Light It Up Blue

I have another LO to share using the April/May Hip 2-B Square kit today.
I knew as soon as I saw all the blue in this kit that I would have to do a LO about our blue light in support of our little guy and the Light It Up Blue campaign.

April 2nd marks World Autism Awareness Day and many international landmarks show their support by bathing these landmarks in blue light on that evening.
Sydney Opera House
 Empire State Building

Canadian side of Niagara Falls

We followed suit and lit our home in blue light as well on this evening and the duration of the week (the blue fades after time and now we are just left with a white light bulb). I snapped a few not-so-great pics of the house. I still struggle with night time photos but am glad to have the photos, no matter how blurry.

Enjoy the Ride

 Happy Monday!
Today I have a new LO to share using the April/May Kit from Hip 2-b Square.
This LO is our first go at bike riding this season (it's been so cold and rainy this Spring there haven't been as many opportunities). I just love the determined look on my little guy's face.

All supplies used from April/May Hip 2-b Square kit
+ add-ons except stamps (Close to My Heart).

Thank you for stopping by!
I have more new projects to share from this kit this week :)

What's in a name?

 Happy Thursday!
Today I have the last of my March projects to share from my Hip 2-B Square Kit.
This first project is a re-do LO.
I printed out what Connor's name means & then included some nicknames and other thoughts I had on a note inside the vellum envie.
I love hiding my unsightly hen scratch whenever possible.
All supplies from the March Hip 2-b Square kit + add-ons.

Welcome Baby

I have been working with some older photos of Little Man lately. I remember taking this photo back when I was in the 'scared silly - are they really going to entrust this small soul to my care' days ( he was 3 days old at the time). It's hard to believe how far we have all come in these 8 short years. I wish I could tell the 'me' of back then that it was really going to be alright and to enjoy how little he was just a little bit more because it really all did go waaaay to fast.

Almost all supplies: Crate Paper Little Boy Blue kit EXCEPT: Queen & Co
Washi tape, Jillibean Soup word stickers, Cotton Twine & Buttons.

As always, thank you for stopping by.

Snow Day

With the gorgeous weather we have been having, the last thing I want to talk about is SNOW - but it is National Scrapbooking Day and I wanted to share a LO and this is it ;)

I bought these beautiful papers at a crop I went to a few months ago at a local community center. I didn't have a lot of money to spend that day but I wanted to make some sort of purchase as the owner of a store from Riverview NB, packed up her goodies & treked it down here. I try my best to support the LSS as best I can. And am I ever glad I did. These papers got my mojo going to scrap 'snow' photos ;  )

This LO uses lots of little bits and pieces I have been holding onto (the snowflake die cut paper for example) The twine was a scrap sitting on my desk and these cute little birds are Recollections stickers I bought from Michael's on clearance ages ago. I love doing 'just because' LOs and using up some of my hoarded supplies.

Supplies: American Crafts Cardstock, My Mind's Eye, Echo Park & We R Memory Keepers Paper, Snowflakes Momenta (large), American Crafts (smaller), KI Memories (lace cardstock), buttons from stash, Mister Huey's mist.

Thanks for stopping by &
Have a Happy Scrappy Day!

These Two...

TGIF!!!

I have another Hip 2-B Square LO to share with you today.

**LO made with the March Kit + Add-ons from Hip 2-B Square.

Ombre seems to be a fun trend in design lately and it's all over the scrappy world as well.
As soon as I saw the backside of this paper, I knew I would attempt a layout using these beautiful aqua tones. I first cut my paper down to 2" strips and then set out to punching. I punched a lot of butterflies but it just didn't look right. I used my remaining scraps and started punching circles. I liked these better but they were just too plain. Layering butterflies and other circles on top of the original circles did the trick and I was thrilled with the end result. I added some yellow, kraft & embossed elements and finished the LO off with some mist and cotton twine and called it done.

Imagine my thrill and excitement when I spotted this a few days later.
EEK! SQUEAL! GASP!!
(you get the idea ;) )
