Birthday Bash!

WOOHOO! It's July 1st so that must mean there's a new sketch and blog hop time on the Imaginisce Blog!
This month we changed it up a bit and we did a CARD sketch!

And here is my take on it:

I also have some FUN projects to share using the new Birthday Bash line!
I can't say enough about it-I really love each and every element in this collection!

This LO is of my Little Man's 5th b-day. I missed the 'shot' of him blowing out the candles at the party, so when we came home, he obliged me and let me take his pic blowing them out again. Aren't 5 year olds great? :)

Notice the pre-fab elements like the pre-threaded and assembled border?
That REALLY saved me a LOT of time.
Also fell in love with the rub on elements in this collection.
(sorry for the bad glare-I had taken these pics on a very stormy day and had rotten light)
I added sparkle to the circle embellishment with my new I-rock & coordinating gems (which happens to come with a handy, HEAT RESISTANT circle template)
************************************************
I normally can't get my mojo to cooperate when I have to do a 'themed' LO, so I took FULL advantage of my flowing mojo and got 5 years of birthday cakes scrapped from LM's b-day parties. :)
**************************************************
This altered hat is one of my favorite projects. And I say altered because the pre-fab birthday hat I got from the $1 store is still inside, I just took one apart, traced it onto my cardstock, cut the paper & re-adhered it onto the hat with tape runner on the front and staples on the back (to utilize the elastic and placement-Why re-invent the wheel, right?). It was SUPER easy, quick (by altering standards) and turned out SO PRETTY! I made the spiral trim by gently running the paper strips over my scissor blades and thumb (to weaken the paper) and then TIGHTLY wrapped the strips in spirals around a small pen. I then poked the ends of the strips into the top of the hat.The fringe around the top of the hat is just small punched out squares, angled and adhered to the hat and finished off with a thin piece of cardstock that I adhered with double sided tape.

I have a few more little projects I made with this collection and will share them this weekend.
Thanks for popping by!
Have a safe and
HAPPY CANADA DAY, eh? ;)
