It smells like fresh cut GRASS!

If you were at one of the last 2 crops with me, you'll understand that title.

If not, it will definately lose the humor if I try to explain it.

I went to a SUPER FUN crop this weekend put on by Chantal at Scrapbooking Gone Wild.

And all I can say is WOW. This girl was born to organize these events! The food was PRIMO-handmade EVERYTHING-I had the most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon rolls, shepherd's pie, chili, peanut butter cake. There wasn't one thing that wasn't delicious.

Chantal had the party HOPPING and was even doing CARTWHEELS to get everyone's mojo going!! And then a bit of scrappy music to keep the energy up. She brought ALL her wares (And I SWORE I would NOT shop-I simply have too MUCH STASH!!) and I managed to drop a bit of coin but ALL good-I got some great sales and some goodies I has been holding out for. PLUS I managed to scrapbook TWO complete LOs (those of you who know me, KNOW I complete NOTHING at a crop as a rule-I am WAY too chatty!) and I even one a prize for THIS one!! (see below-Boom Boom Pow)

And we were SO lucky that Miss Julie graced us with her presence!

So glad we got to chat it up with you, Chickie! Thanks for the laughs!

This is a page that I had 'in my head' for awhile now and then when LM was dancing and jumping on his bed a few weeks ago when this (his favorite) song was on,I got my camera and got SNAP HAPPY. I am REALLY thrilled with how this turned out.I fussy cut a few elements from the MM paper and then used foam dots to elevate them off the page. I did this with the images of Little Man as well. I layered black Cardstock underneath for added pizazz! I used some orange SMOOCH (which is like a frosty, nail poilsh made for paper crafts to add detail on the stars, pow sign)

Supplies: Paper-Making Memories (doodles), Crate Paper (scalloped)

White & black CS, Smooch (Orange)

Buttons-American Crafts, Brads-unknown

This LO was SO much FUN!! I love it when I get to use up scraps

and all of these fantastic embellies that I end up hoarding!

This is made up of a WHOLE lot of bits and pieces.

Story behind the photo: I missed the first fun day Little Man had at his sessions

(bad Momma never read the news letter thoroughly!)

So I was READY for 'Dress Up Like A Flower Day!'

BUT LM's worker called in sick so he never got to wear the hat

I made for him for the purpose intended. But he likes to play with it

(I used creative Cafe felt flowers, buttons and printed images of

Thomas off the internet, punched them out and

used them as centers in my flowers)

Supplies: Paper-BoBunny (red dot), Creative Imaginations (scalloped)

Jilly Bean Soup (red polka), Making Memories (orange), Basic Grey (blue)

Black CS, Stamp-Prima, Ink-Stazon, Chipboard-Basic Grey

Alphas-$1 Store (Foam), Making Memories (Tiny Alphas)

Black Zig Pen, Felt Blooms-Creative Cafe, Sheer-Maya (?)

Brads-unknown

Little Man has a 'THING' for drawing castles. He draws them ALL the time

(and I think he is pretty good at it for 4 years old).

He did this one on his chalkboard,

so I photographed it and printed it off as an 8x10.

I then fussy cut around it and used it as my main focus.

I then tore my green paper and layered it to mimic grass

(as done a MILLION times before me ;) )

I traced clouds and the sun, cut them and outlined them

(pop-dotting for added dimension) and then finished

it with some small punched out flowers and rub ons for journalling.

I was REALLY thrilled with this (it has taken me about a week off and on to finish).

In then finished it off with some hand stitching to give a finishing touch.

Supplies: Paper-Fancy Pants (blue), We R Mem (Green), Making Memories (sun)

Flowers/butterflies punched using scrap paper, finished withh sead beeds

Rub ons-Creative Cafe, Pens-Black Zig, Sharpie (blue)

DMC Floss, Brads-Basic Grey

I don't know that the fresh cut grass story could ever loose it's humor.

I love your layouts and I saw how much work you put into them.I love how you used your scraps and you now have me wanting some Stayzon.

Connor draws far better than my almost 7 year old,who just started putting extremities in the right places on stick people.

These LO's do need to be submitted. They all have that WOW factor for sure.Very unique work.

He's 4??? That ROCKS! I love that layout!!! I did the same thing when my 4 year old wrote "Tape Measure" on his white board all by himself.
